以下に子育てに関して主に母親に吹き込まれる疑似科学的主張(ただの呪いの言葉のようなものもあるけど)を挙げてみる。

・妊娠したら薬は絶対ダメ
・胎教するといい
・妊娠すると太るからダイエットしなくちゃ
・名前の画数が悪い
・家や部屋の方角が悪い
・母乳育児万歳－西原式
・母乳にはダイオキシンが含まれるからしぼって捨てて赤ちゃんにはあげないほうがいい
・無農薬・有機・無添加食品がいい
・加工食品は添加物だらけだからダメ
・放射線照射した食品は命がないからダメ
・遺伝子組換え技術はフランケンシュタインのような化け物を作る技術
・電子レンジは電磁波が出るから使ってはいけない
・ラップやプラスチック食器は使ってはいけない
・哺乳瓶は危険
・缶詰めはダメ
・とにかく母親の手作りが一番
・手作りしても「おかあさんはやすめハハキトク」はダメ
・卵は洗ってないのがいい
・パンは天然酵母
・水道水は塩素が入っていて危険
・昔の食事がいい
・牛乳は牛の飲むものだから人間には向かない
・砂糖や小麦粉やごはんなど白いもの（純度が高いもの）はダメ
・三歳までは母親が育てるべき
・予防接種は危険、自然に病気にかかるのがいい
・ホメオパシーとか漢方とかで医療拒否
・マクロビオティック
・七田式とか家庭保育園とかフラッシュカード
・血液型別育児
・モンテッソーリ
・小さい頃に英語耳を作らないと手遅れ
・小さいうちに絶対音感つけさせないと手遅れ
・せっけんと重曹とクエン酸
・合成洗剤や柔軟剤やシャンプーは身体にも環境にも悪い
・紙おむつは悪い
・化学繊維は身体に悪い
・家も家具も天然素材がいい
・歯にフッ素塗ったりフッ素入り練り歯磨きは危険
・歯垢検出用の色素は発がん物質
・虫除けは危険
・子どもは絶対裸足
・マンション暮らしのような土に触れない生活では子どもがおかしくなる
・子どもはみんな天才（白紙）、教育次第で何にでもなれる
・親のたった一言で一生台無し
・子どもの教育はお金次第
・ゲームやるとゲーム脳になる
・テレビばかり見てると自閉症になる
・ランドセルで背が伸びなくなる
